Installing outside the Play Store: enable "Install unknown apps" for your browser or file manager when prompted, then open the APK. It installs in place over any earlier BASTION build — your library, maps, and settings are kept.
What's in 1.0
- Library — import PDF, EPUB, and MOBI (open‑with, folder import, or linked in
place); read with highlights and bookmarks that persist; full‑text search.
- Maps — fully offline. Load your own map packs, drop and share waypoints, draw
annotations and layers. Ships with a built‑in base map.
- Tools — a customizable shelf of your field apps, organized into loadouts and
categories, with quick pins to the Emergency screen.
- Sync — SFTP, hosted HTTPS (ptgbastion.com), and device‑to‑device peer‑to‑peer.
Cherry‑pick exactly what you share. Enterprise units get per‑team roles and self‑provisioning share lanes.
- Emergency — a multi‑region blood chit (translated for EUCOM, AFRICOM, and
INDOPACOM) and one‑tap access to your pinned critical items.
- Security & EMCON — PIN and biometric lock, an encrypted (SQLCipher) database,
encrypted portable backups, and a network gate ("Go Dark") for emissions control. BASTION holds no INTERNET permission of its own — it only talks to a server you point it at, over a transport you choose.
Notes
- This is a stability milestone: no functional changes from 0.20.8 — the 0.x
series is now promoted to a released 1.0 line.
- Enterprise licensing is optional; core personal use is free.
